ABOUT

Shihara redefines the meaning and purpose of jewelry by transforming what has traditionally been seen as essential structure into visible design. This approach offers a new perspective that supports self-expression through the way a piece is worn.

By treating earring backs and necklace closures as part of the design, Shihara highlights the act of wearing itself. This approach questions how jewelry is worn and repositions it as something that connects to the body and the mind, rooted in personal intention and desire.

Each of Shihara's precisely engineered pieces is crafted entirely by hand. Every step, from forming and polishing to stone setting, requires expert skill. To preserve and develop these increasingly rare techniques, Shihara has established its own studio dedicated to craftsmanship.
Shihara values transparency in both sourcing and production, making each stage of the process clear to the customer.
Diamonds are sourced only from countries participating in the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, an international system that prevents the trade of conflict diamonds. Each rough diamond must be accompanied by a government-issued certificate verifying it is conflict-free.
The gold used in Shihara jewelry is also sourced from refiners accredited by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). Established in 1987, the LBMA sets global standards for quality and responsible sourcing and works to avoid connections to conflict or human rights violations.
