DETAILS

Ark Journal is a Scandinavian interior and design magazine.

Issue No. 14 focuses on the quiet yet powerful transformations currently unfolding in the fields of architecture and design. Rather than seeking to erase the past, this issue centers on architects and creators who build new values upon layers of accumulated history—approaching design as a continuous dialogue between what has been and what is emerging.

Through carefully curated projects, the magazine explores architecture that honors the histories embedded in buildings, respects regional crafts and traditions, and embraces complexity and continuity as essential values. From regional architecture in France to living spaces and studios in Tbilisi, Georgia, New York, and Mexico, the issue reconsiders the notion of “home” as a place where the personal and the social, memory and the present moment, intersect.

Alongside architectural features, the issue highlights creative practices from around the world, examining how materials, scale, memory, and a strong sense of place are translated into thoughtful expression across disciplines. This issue also includes an eight-page interview with Yuta Ishihara, designer of Shihara, offering insight into his jewelry practice through the lens of architectural thinking and a deep interest in structure and form. The cover is available in three different variations.
